About The Artist
Melissa is a Trinidadian born Interior Designer and Abstract Artist. She is the founder and creative influence behind Ramblings of a Design Junkie, a full service Interior Design Studio based on the island.
Melissa is a self-taught Abstract Artist and over the last few years she has immersed herself in a technique called “fluid painting” and through this process, she has been able to fuel her desire to create a contemporary twist on Caribbean Art. She draws immense inspiration from the colours which appear in every facet of Caribbean life, from crystal clear waters to firey orange sunsets. Each of her pieces demonstrates Melissa’s “Caribbean-esq” sensibility with the use of eye catching, vibrant colours.
Though she has spent time living and studying in Europe, Melissa considers herself the quintessential “Caribbean Girl”… fun, warm and earthy, with a touch of simple sophistication. When she is not in her Studio, she can probably found outside, reconnecting with nature or soaking up some sunshine.
